Places of interest whilst on holiday at Gone Fishin' Vianne
Vianne, one of Edward 1st Bastide towns, constructed about 1284.
It is a living history of what Bastides were with its angle towers and great stone towered gates. Walls still standing protectively enfolding the 11th to 14th century houses and churches. It has the distinction of being the only Bastide to be named after a woman. On the riverside is an area which has seating with views of the weir and suspension bridge. A very nice place to sit in the sun. As Vianne is not very big it may be convenient to tie it in to a visit to Nerac.
Getting there follow the route for Nerac until you reach Faugarolles, then follow the signs for Vianne.
