A ‘must see’ for visitors.
Standing high on a rocky out crop overlooking the river Lot.
The streets are well preserved with 13th to 16th century houses.
Steeply pitched tiled roofs with streets following the sometimes steep slope down the hillside.
Many of the houses are now occupied by artisans whose work is often for sale. In the square at the top of the village you will find restaurants should you need refreshment.
Getting there.
Follow the route to Cahors, but when you reach the bridge instead of turning left for the town continue along the D911 until you reach the village of Arcambel. There turn left onto the D8 (there is a sign for St.Cirq Lapopie) Follow this and it will bring you to the belvedere above the village. Here is to be found the car park, there are stunning views of the valley from this point.
Your first step to a wonderful holiday & chance to explore the beautiful Lot et Garonne(47), Aquitaine, South West France.
