On holiday at Gone Fishin visit Sarlat- la-Canéda.
Sarlat-la-Canéda, or simply Sarlat of Black Perigord in the Dordogne.
An exceptionally well preserved city and renowned for its medieval architecture.
Don’t miss the streets around the Cathedral and to the north of the old town.
If you visit the tourist office you can get a tourist map which will suggest a walking route which will take in the key attractions. Broadly the pedestrianised Rue de la Republique runs the length of the old town with mazes of narrow streets either side. The Cathedral is to the south east of the town.
Getting there.
Broadly, follow the route for St Cirq (NOT Lapopie) but on reaching the roundabout at Siorac en Perigord take the first exit and follow D703 to Sarlat.
