About an hour or so’s easy drive from the gite.
It has something to offer for most people, from the medieval part of the town, reached down almost any side street, where there is to be found the Cathedral of Saint Etienne with it’s lovely cloisters, and the house of Henry IV.
The Rue Gambetta, which is now the main road through the town has restaurants and bars for those needing a break.
The Pont Valentre, Cahors famous medieval bridge is reached by turning left at the fountain on the crossroads as you cross the bridge from the D911 into the town.
Getting there.
Take the D911 to Villeneuve. On reaching the junction on the outskirts do not go into the town but follow Autres Directions and follow the signs for Cahors. This will avoid the town centre which can be somewhat confusing if you don’t know it.
