It runs along the D703 and stretches back up the hillside to the top of the cliff.
To reach the castle and church in the upper village you face a long steep climb through the village streets, though there are lots of places to stop and enjoy the view while you get your breath back.
At the top is Chateau Beynac which dates from the 12th century, though it was rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries.
This is a very popular place to visit and is ideally placed to visit other places in the area.
Getting there.
Again the same route as for Sarlat though not as far. The main road runs straight through it.
